About Antics Party Games

Antics Party Games is a pass-the-phone party game app for iPhone and Android. Eight games, thousands of cards, one phone you pass around the room. This is who makes it and why.

What Antics is

Antics is a single app that holds eight party games: Never Have I Ever, Truth or Dare, Most Likely To, Would You Rather, What Are The Odds, Imposter, The Four Kings, and its own Antics mode, which deals a mixed stream of dares, rules and votes so nobody has to be the host. There are thousands of cards in total, and they do not repeat until you have seen them all. No ads, no accounts, no setup.

It is a party-only app built on forfeits rather than drinking, which means the person not drinking plays exactly the same game as everyone else. You can see what each game is on the party games page, or play five of them free in your browser through our question generators.

Who makes it

Antics is built by Guy, a solo founder, and published by Antics App Ltd. It is not a studio and not a big team: it is one person who got tired of every party stalling on the same question, "what do we play?", and wanted one phone that could answer it.

The first version was not smooth. It took six App Store rejections across 44 days before Antics went live, and the earliest prototype had a drinking mode that the shipped app deliberately does not. The app you can download today is party-only and built for mixed groups.

Why "one phone"

Most party games make one person do the admin: reading the questions, remembering whose turn it is, keeping score. That person stops being a guest at their own party. Antics is designed so the phone runs the night and gets passed around, so everyone stays a player. That is the whole idea behind the line we keep coming back to: one phone, everyone's problem.
