The Antics app: what's free, what's Premium and how it works
Antics is a party games app for iPhone and Android. You open a game, read the card out, deal with it and pass the phone on. Nine games live in one app, there are no ads and no accounts, and nothing in it depends on drinking. This page is the plain version: what you get free, what Premium adds, and how the app treats you.

What Antics is
Antics is nine party games in one app, built for a group in the same room with one phone between them. Whoever is holding it reads the card out, the room deals with it, and the phone moves on. Nobody needs their own copy, a login or a second device.
You can type in up to twelve names before a game, and then some cards call people out by name. You can also skip the names and start straight away.
Most games pair their cards with a forfeit drawn from a shared deck: a small, silly thing to do, like a runway walk. Nothing in the app depends on drinking, so the friend on soft drinks plays exactly the same game as everyone else.
The app also remembers which cards your phone has already shown, per game, and deals the ones you haven't seen first. Old cards only come back round once you've been through the lot.
The nine games, in one line each
In the order they sit on the home screen. The words in quotes are each game's own tagline in the app.
- Antics mode ("A bit of everything, one card at a time"). The flagship: one feed that mixes confessions for the whole room, call-outs for one person, votes, challenges and new rules that last for a set number of cards.
- Spicy. Bolder prompts for adults, all in one feed. Premium only.
- Imposter ("One of you is lying"). Everyone sees the same secret word except the imposter, who has to bluff through a round of clues. For 3 to 12 players, with an optional second imposter from six players up.
- Never Have I Ever ("The secrets WILL come out"). Read the confession out; anyone who has done it owns up and does the forfeit.
- Truth or Dare ("Choose your fate"). Pick truth or dare. Chicken out and you do the forfeit instead.
- Most Likely To ("Point fingers. Ruin friendships"). Everyone points on three, and whoever collects the most fingers does the forfeit.
- Would You Rather ("Impossible choices, real consequences"). Everyone votes on three, and the smaller side does the forfeit.
- The Four Kings ("The classic circle game, 52 cards of chaos"). A full 52-card deck where every rank has its own rule, and each King adds a move to the group dance routine.
- What Are The Odds ("Shout the same number, do the thing"). Every card is a dare. One player asks another "what are the odds?", the target picks them (say 1 in 10), and if you both shout the same number on three, the dare happens.
For the rules of each one in more detail, see party games for adults, or play a few rounds in your browser first, free and with no download. Not sure which game to open first? Which party game should we play? picks for you.
Imposter and The Four Kings are free to play, and every other game except Spicy has free cards. Get Antics free on iPhone or Android.
How Premium is sold, and how to cancel or restore it
On iPhone, Premium comes three ways: a weekly subscription, a monthly subscription, or a one-off Forever purchase. New subscribers on iPhone get the first week of the weekly plan free, and it then renews weekly until you cancel. Android's options differ slightly. On either phone the app shows what's on offer, with the price in your own currency, before you pay. In the app the subscriptions are called Party Pass and the one-off purchase is Antics Forever.
Payment goes through the App Store or Google Play, whichever you installed from. Antics never sees your card details.
To cancel a weekly or monthly subscription, use your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. On iPhone, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Forever has nothing to cancel.
To restore Premium on a new phone or after reinstalling, open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases, while signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with.
Phones and languages
Antics is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android (where it isn't available in Mexico or Brazil), and it also runs on iPad. You can play some of the games in a web browser too: Never Have I Ever, Most Likely To, Would You Rather and Truth or Dare, plus the Imposter word generator, with no download and no sign-up.
The app plays in eleven languages: English, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Czech. It follows your phone's language by default. To change it, go to Settings, then Language, and the new language takes over the next time Antics starts. Spicy cards are in English for now.
No ads, no accounts, and what happens to your data
There are no ads in Antics, and there is nothing to sign up for. No account, no login, no email address. You open it and play.
In plain words, from our privacy policy:
- The app doesn't collect your name, email address, contacts or location, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
- Player names you type in stay on your phone. What you answer, and who you play with, is never recorded.
- The app sends anonymous usage statistics, like which game was opened and which card was shown. They carry a random ID made on your phone and, in current versions, an anonymous customer ID from our purchase provider. Neither is linked to your name, Apple ID or email.
- Payments are handled by Apple or Google Play. We never see your payment details.
The full details, including how long data is kept and how to ask for it to be deleted, are in the privacy policy.
Who it's for, and which deck to pick
Antics is for adults. It's rated 18+ on the App Store, and it's built for groups of friends on a night out or a night in.
There are two kinds of card in the app:
- Party cards. The main decks in every game. Written for adult groups: exes, dating, group chats, nights out and the odd confession.
- The Spicy deck. Bolder prompts for adults, and Premium only. It has its own game, and it only reaches the other games if someone with Premium switches the Spicy pack on from a game lobby, which shuffles it into Antics mode, Never Have I Ever, Truth or Dare, Most Likely To and Would You Rather on that phone. It is off until they do.
Need something clean? The app itself has no clean mode, but for work, family or a mixed crowd the free generators on this site have a Clean button: no innuendo, no swearing and nothing about drinking. It's on the Never Have I Ever, Most Likely To, Would You Rather, Truth or Dare and What Are The Odds generators.
Skipping a card takes one tap: if one doesn't suit the room, tap on to the next.
Who makes Antics
Antics is made by Guy Matthews, a solo founder in London, through Antics App Ltd. The cards are hand-picked, and the ones that don't land get cut. There's more on the about page.
