Every Christmas truth and dare

The Draw a card button deals from these: 17 truths and 12 dares from the Antics Christmas cards. Where a card names someone, it means the person on your left or the next person along.

Christmas truths

  1. Where’s the strangest place you’ve ever woken up on New Year’s Day?
  2. What’s the worst thing you’ve done at a work Christmas party?
  3. Who in this room would you most like to get stuck under the mistletoe with?
  4. What’s the most awkward thing that’s ever happened at your family’s Christmas dinner?
  5. Who in this room would you least want to buy a Secret Santa present for?
  6. What’s the worst journey home for Christmas you’ve ever had?
  7. Which ex are you most likely to text at midnight on New Year’s Eve?
  8. How did you find out Santa wasn’t real?
  9. Who in this room would you bring home to meet your family at Christmas?
  10. What’s the worst Christmas present you’ve ever had from someone you were dating?
  11. What’s the worst thing you’ve done to win a board game at Christmas?
  12. What’s the cheapest Secret Santa present you’ve ever got away with?
  13. Who are you dreading bumping into back home this Christmas?
  14. Which Christmas song sums up your love life right now?
  15. What New Year’s resolution does the person on your left need most?
  16. What’s your family’s weirdest Christmas tradition?
  17. What part did you play in your school nativity?

Christmas dares

  1. It’s ten seconds to midnight on New Year’s Eve. Count the room down from ten, then kiss whoever’s nearest on the cheek.
  2. Be the Christmas tree. The room has thirty seconds to decorate you with whatever’s to hand.
  3. Pretend the person on your left just gave you the worst present ever. Open it and thank them like you mean it.
  4. Put every player here on Santa’s naughty or nice list, and say why.
  5. Text the last person you kissed: “Merry Christmas x”.
  6. Hold your hand over the person on your left and the next person along like mistletoe. They kiss on the cheek or both do a forfeit.
  7. Act out a Christmas film with no words. The room has thirty seconds to guess it.
  8. Be a shopping centre Santa. The person on your left sits on your knee and tells you what they want for Christmas.
  9. Let the person on your left pick a New Year’s resolution for you. Break it before your next turn and you do a forfeit.
  10. Lead the room in a Christmas song. Anyone who hasn’t joined in by the chorus does a forfeit.
  11. Wake the person on your left up like an excited kid on Christmas morning.
  12. Run into the person on your left’s arms like the end of a Christmas film.

How to play Christmas Truth or Dare

  1. Sit in a rough circle, because some cards name the person on your left or the next person along.
  2. On your turn, tap the button and read the card out. A question is a truth and an instruction is a dare, and the shuffle decides which you get.
  3. Answer the truth honestly, or do the dare there and then. Everyone gets one pass a game.
  4. Then the person on your left goes next.

Prefer to choose? Say truth or dare first, then tap until that kind of card comes up. Three of the dares can end in a forfeit, so agree what one is before you start: there are ideas on the forfeit ideas page. The classic rules and longer lists are in the Truth or Dare guide.

Christmas Truth or Dare: things people ask

Are these Christmas truths and dares clean?

Not all of them. A few are about exes, kissing and the work Christmas party, so read the list first if the room is mixed. For a work do, the clean deck on the Truth or Dare generator has no innuendo and no swearing.

When are the Christmas cards in the Antics app?

From 1 December to 1 January, free for everyone. Switch Christmas on in the Truth or Dare lobby before you start, and they are dealt in among the usual cards. Never Have I Ever, Most Likely To, Would You Rather and Antics mode have Christmas cards too.

How many people do you need?

Three or more. Four to eight is best, so turns come round quickly and nobody waits long for a go.
