Brand words for Imposter: the Brands and Logos deck

You cannot remember your cousin's birthday, but you could describe a Pringles tube in perfect detail. This deck turns that into a weapon.

Brands are the thing everyone has an opinion on and nobody admits to caring about. Greggs is the classic: the whole country knows its order, and the imposter has to join a conversation about lunch that everyone else is weirdly passionate about. Ryanair gets instant, heartfelt clues from anyone who has ever sat in row 31 with their knees round their ears. Duolingo is a joy because half the room only knows it through its slightly threatening notifications.

The full brands word list, with the hints the app gives the imposter

Every word below is dealt in the Antics app. The easy hint is what the imposter sees on the default setting; the hard hint is the harder tier. Playing from this page with paper? Give the imposter one hint or none, your call.

Running a brands round

  1. Brands and Logos is a follow deck. Tap it in the Antics Imposter lobby, follow Antics on TikTok or Instagram, and it is yours, free.
  2. Pick it, add everyone and pass the phone.
  3. Rule of the deck: no slogans and no jingles. Anyone who hums kills the round and takes the forfeit.
  4. Also banned: naming a rival. "Not Samsung" is not a clue about Apple, it is a signpost.
  5. Vote on three. A caught imposter gets one go at the brand.

The brands that cause trouble

The tough ones are brands that meant something before they were companies. Apple, Amazon and Google all have a second life, so an imposter's woolly clue can land perfectly by accident. Then there are the fierce pairings: Apple and Samsung are both in the deck, and so are Xbox and Nintendo, which turns gaming clues into a minefield. The app deals the imposter a hint every round, and the Hard ones are sharp. Easy first, then hard: Google: Colourful / Arguments. Tesla: Silent / Smug. WhatsApp: Ticks / Mums. Arguments might be the best hint in the whole game, because that is how every debate among mates ends: somebody googles it.

Who the brands deck is for

The office, first and foremost. Nobody has to share anything personal, everyone has a view on Crocs, and a round about shops is about the safest team-building exercise going. It also suits a flat of friends who all buy from the same three places, and a group of lads who will argue about BMW drivers for longer than the round lasts.

Why do I have to follow Antics to unlock it?

It is a trade. You follow us on TikTok or Instagram, you get Brands and Logos for free, along with the Sports deck. No payment and no subscription, and nobody checks whether you unfollow later, though we would be hurt.

Will people outside the UK know these brands?

Most of them are global. A few only make sense on this island: Greggs, Tesco and Primark will baffle anyone who grew up elsewhere, which is useful information when you are working out who the imposter is.

Can I play brands without the app?

Yes, the list on this page works with paper strips from a bowl. You lose the imposter's hint, which is the best bit, and somebody has to write the word, so they know it before the round starts.

Know your logos? Prove it by lying.

Brands and Logos unlocks free in Antics when you follow us. One phone, everyone peeks, and someone has to bluff their way through a chat about Nando's.
